Interview Panel

The interview panel consists of 4 to 5 senior level officers of the concerned bank, who are generally from a variety of backgrounds. And needless to say that they are better experienced than any candidate. Hence there are various things to be kept in mind while attending the interview.

As being called for the interview after clearing the written examination is an achievement in itself. And any mistake done at this level would certainly be regrettable for whole life.

From my experience, I am sharing few things which might be known to some of you and might come as a matter of surprise for others.

ü  The interviewers are not aware of the marks scored by the candidate in the written examination.

ü  Generally the Interviewers don’t belong to the region where the interviews are being held. For example, if you are appearing at Bangalore centre then the officers interacting with you inside the cabin are normally from some other regions.

ü  The interviewers are really eager to recruit you and place you in the final selection list.

ü  They are questioning you to judge your knowledge; you have already proved about your knowledge in your written examination.

ü  They are trying to find out, why should they recruit you? Have you ever seen your mom purchasing the vegetables at the local market? She picks up each and every single piece of the vegetable by her own hands, because she has to pay for that.

ü  Similarly the bank has to pay you till you retire, so it’s the right of the interview panel to check your mental and personality related skills thoroughly.

ü  The interview panel consists of the father figures of the Indian Banking and Financial industry, so better, don’t try to bluff them, They really love to listen a ‘No’ than listening to some vague or wrong kind of answers.

ü  They are simply looking for the “Kamzor kadi kaun” Hence more tensed you are – More the kind of difficult questions would be thrown on you.

ü  Just remember that in case of the selection, you would be working as their colleagues, and hence behave like their colleague only. Be friendly, keep a genuine smile on the face. Be normal as if you are chatting with some elder relative of yours. They are simply not going to eat you up.

ü  Whenever you interact with them, please look into their eyes, (atleast for sometime), they are experienced enough to judge that if you have the courage to look in their eyes, you are confident enough.

More to follow, in my next post,
Regards
